How does CycleTRAK work?
CycleTRAK uses the latest in GPS technology. It has a state of the art GPS receiver installed which receives satellite signals and then calculates this information and determines very accurately, where your ride is located. The location data is then transmitted over the cellular towers to your protected login where the data can be viewed at anytime.
What makes CycleTRAK the best product for motorcycle theft protection and rider safety?
CycleTRAK is not just a lock or an alarm. It is a sophisticated piece of equipment that uses the latest in GPS technology. Unlike other products on the market, it guarantees theft recovery and with BikeDown, provides a safety feature exclusive to CycleTRAK.
LoJack, which is a popular name in the Industry, is a dated product that is only available in a small percentage of the country and cannot be used on ATV’s Snowmobile’s, or PWC’s. LoJack also relies on the police to have special equipment in their vehicles to help aid in the recovery process. Very few police forces have this equipment. Lojack is nowhere near as accurate, prompt or reliable as CycleTRAK.
CycleTRAK works in every state and allows you the rider to keep track of your bike at all times. It also provides many additional features and benefits. CycleTRAK can send alerts via text or email notifying you immediately if someone tampers or steals your bike. The CycleTRAK call center is on hand 24/7 to assist you in your needs and can work with you and the police to recover your property in the event it is stolen.
How often does the unit locate my motorcycle?
The unit updates every 5 minutes while the vehicle is in motion. You also have the ability to locate your motorcycle at anytime through the online user interface. CycleTRAK will also send its location anytime an event is triggered.
How many alert recipients are supported?
You can add up to 5 recipients to receive email and/or text message notifications in the event that your bike is stolen, is in an accident or is tampered with.
What type of battery does the unit use? Will it drain my motorcycle battery?
12 volt motorcycle battery, plus backup lithium ion battery within the unit. Unlike other GPS tracking units, CycleTRAK has an internal accelerometer that will not drain your battery.
What happens if my motorcycle is stolen and transported in a van or chopped in a shop? Will it be able to communicate with the GPS satellites?
In most trailers tested the unit has received GPS locations. The unit is also able to be read when inside houses, apartments, garages, or storage facilities.
What network does the unit use?
We use the AT&T cellular coverage network.
Where is the unit installed?
CycleTRAK can be hidden in a number of locations. For security purposes, we do not disclose the location of the system to anyone. If this were to provide this information it could compromise the security of this product and the ability of its use.
Is my location information secure?
Yes, our online tracking site is secure. It is both username and password protected.
Will the unit work in my area?
CycleTRAK works throughout the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico. If the unit is out of our coverage area the unit will store the information and forward it to our server and as soon as the unit re-enters coverage area all of your data will be reported. Click HERE to see our coverage map.
What software do I need to install to begin tracking my device?
You don’t need any special software to begin tracking. All you need is to be able to connect to the internet.
Can I have more than one tracking device on the system?
Yes. You are not limited to the number of devices.
How do I know if my unit is working?
You can tell that your unit is working when the LED lights are flashing or by using the web server to check that your unit is reporting. You can check and verify the location of your ride at any time, 24/7 via Phone or Internet connection.
Will I get a discount on my insurance if I have a unit installed on my motorcycle?
There are several insurance companies that do offer discounts to riders that have a theft recovery unit installed on their bike. Check with your provider to find out if you can receive a reduced insurance rate.
Can the unit be installed on off-road motorcycles and other recreation vehicles?
Yes, CycleTRAK is compatible with any Motorcycle, Snowmobile, ATV, UTV or PWC
What happens if I sell my motorcycle? Can I transfer my unit to another motorcycle?
Yes, the unit is easily transferable from one bike to another. You will just need to contact us and let us know the new vehicle information.
How will CycleTRAK recover my motorcycle in the event it is stolen?
CycleTRAK’s 24/7 call center will work with you and the local police to recover your motorcycle by using the GPS data that is transmitted from your CycleTRAK. All police cruisers are equipped with internet access. We provide the police with a temporary user login to view your motorcycles location so they are able to recover it quickly.
How fast will CycleTRAK find my motorcycles location?
You can locate your motorcycle in less the 45 seconds.
What is Geo Fence?
A Geo Fence is a perimeter set up by you on the user interface that will allow you to be notified if your motorcycle enters or leaves a designated area.
How does the Speed Alert work?
A Speed Alert is a notification that is set when you motorcycle exceeds a pre-set speed limit.
I have insurance so why do I need CycleTRAK?
Most people have insurance, however insurance does not always cover the hard work and accessories put into you one of a kind motorcycle. CycleTRAK guarantees your motorcycle will be recovered in the event it is stolen so you won’t have to worry about the hassle of filing a claim. Also, you will have peace of mind knowing that you are protected with the BikeDown features in the event anything happens to you while you are riding.
